Dayton Art Institute Rembrandt exhibit.
Since Susie decided to go into work today, Bob and I went to the Dayton Art Museum. Well, we dropped Rip off at the vet first because today was the day he was to be "castrated." Ouch. So with him dropped off, and Raven in tow - off we went to the DAI.
We got there like 10 minutes before the opened. There were a couple of grey hairs walking up to the door, which always makes me think that whatever place of business MUST be open - or WHY would THEY be out of their cars? :) We got in, paid our $16 bucks per person - and off we went. Amazing, this place was hopping. Quite a few people decided to spend a Thursday morning before New Years at the DAI. It was like walking into another world. This paintings took my breath away. Me, being the past Graphic Design major, who LOVES art and art history, was just in awe. The DAI gives you and audiotool to use on the tour, as part as your admission price. I just couldn't believe that I was standing infront of the paintings that took him so long to paint, and at such a young age.
Ok, so enough about that. Rippy is good. He's really sore, curled up on the couch next to me. I gave him so car trip pills to get him to settle down. Apparently - if you give dogs pain meds, they are almost tricked into thinking that they feel great and nothings wrong with them. And then he might do something that will cause him to take longer to heal - or re-open the incision. :) So why not make him sleep - he needs his rest so he can heal. :)

Damn bloggerbeta. This thing has been more trouble than its worth sometimes. :) I swear. But I got it all squared away now, and I hope to be posting more in the future. Kinda hard sometimes when I have the myspace account as well. That tends to get neglected - almost like the iguana I have at home. :)
Off to work. Ciao!

Let me introduce you to my newest family member - I got Ripley, my male Weimaraner on September 20th of this year. He's about 4 months old, and 34 lbs and counting!
He's going to be a big boy, but he is just so stinkin' cute! So Raven finally has a brother and they are getting along EXCEPTIONALLY well. She's such a princess, I'm happy she's now got a playmate.
Ripley's first trip to the Otterbien park - over near Lebanon. We were listening and watching the remote controlled air planes flying about. :) Such a cutie!
Raven on top of the playground equipment. She was having a blast climbing up to the top, and barking at Rip to come join her. She even went down the slide. Too bad I didn't have the camera on her when she did it!

Halloween HangMan
Thanks to the lovely Laurie - I can now drive myself crazy while at work with this hideously mean skeleton. You can play too - it's at the bottom of my page.. :)

Oh, to be able to breathe.....
Wow. What a day-- more like what a past two weeks. I've been through more these past two weeks than I can ever remember. I've had surgery on my calf, and counted over 20 incisions. Then I caught a WONDERFUL case of Strep Throat. That then turned into Asthmatic Bronchitis that decided to hang out for a week and a half. So, let's talk about how breathing has been. AWFUL. I hack like a seal. I sound like I'm calling some rare bird. People in the office bring bags of cough drops to my desk (which don't help), they ask me if I'm going to live (I've heard that too many times now), Why I'm not home (duh, it's called WORK b/c you HAVE to be there), if I'm calling the Artic seals from Half-Moon Bay (that was my fav). But did you know how much this cough HURTS? It literaly HURTS me deeply, throat and chest and shoulders. I know I sound like my lungs are going to jump out in my cube any minute, but I actually FEEL like they are going to. If it's annoying you - don't you think it's annoying me?
Alas, another trip to the doctor on Monday (previous on the Saturday prior, then last Thursday) which was trip #3 - And I was ordered to get a nebulizer, and prednisone. Seriously? A nebu-what? and Prednisone? doesn't that cause serious internal injury if used over time? Then I started freaking - what if I was going to have to do this for the rest of my life? Was this the final deteriation of the stupidity smoking I had done? Was the family genetics finally catching up to me at this age? I had a great aunt die from SEVERE Asthma - where the prednisone did so much damage to her lungs over time she ended up on a machine - and eventually it couldn't keep her alive? What about my paternal grandmother that died of pulmonary fibrosis - hardening of the lungs? What about my maternal grandmother (who doesn't claim me, btw. She doesn't return cards or calls) anyway - she's had serious allergies for many years. What have I done??
So, panic attack aside - I have my humidifier running in my room, I got a vaporizer to see if it will help ease some of this wheezing - I just used the nebulizer that isn't as scarey as I thought it would be. I can breathe. I'm not hacking my lungs out. I'm exhausted. I'm tired. I'm off to bed. Let's hope tomorrow stays like this.

Oh yeah. I'm really going somewhere.
So, this damn strep has moved more into one of the nastiest chest colds I've have in quite some time. So this dragonfly has some Vicks Vapor Rub on her wings. Not going far, especially without my inhaler. I've been bed-ridden for almost a week. Not wanting to move, or try to face reality. Oh, and did I mention I tried going to work yesterday? HAHAH! That was a joke. I don't remember the ride there, and I sure as hell don't remember driving home. So I thought this morning that I was feeling better- and that I could go into work today. HA! Yeah, so Raven got dropped off a daycare, and I made it to a gas station down the road from there, turned around - picked her up, and back into bed I went. Once I got home - which I don't remember that drive either. Stupid, I know. I shouldn't drive when I'm sick like this - equilibrium is all jacked. Oh well. I have my fingers crossed that I'll be in tomorrow. And maybe another trip to the doc, since all my meds are gone.
I would have hated to see what this would have turned into had I NOT gotten the meds on Sat.
good night!

Laughing at Earl
Ok, since I'm still new to the whole blog oriented thing - I'mgoing to be going slow. But I did realize this is a great way to show Dianne and Earl some support! :) Not like they need it. But Earl always seems to come up with some of the damndest things - I thought I'd take a minute to laugh. *giggle* Ahem. Ok - composure has been gained. :)
